THERE WEREN'T ANY SURPRISES - WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN PARIS 2016

EKS Alihandro

We need not emphasize that the World Horse Championship in Paris is one of the highest ranking Arabian horse shows. The contestants include horses and breeders who are likely to be the trendsetters in the near future. This year horses from Janów and those of private breeders were not represented. Only the Michałów team appeared in Paris. Polish horses won the highest awards on numerous occasions, displaying their top quality. And although the quality of Polish horses remains  (still) the same, the results of this year’s Championship can hardly surprise. Already after the Cup of Nations in Aachen it was clear what is to be expected in Paris. Five ladies from Michałów: Emanolla (Vitorio TO - Emandoria/Gazal Al Shaqab), EL Larinera (Empire - El Emeera/Ekstern), Galerida (Shanghai E.A. - Galilea/Laheeb), Pustynia Kahila (Kahil Al Shaqab - Pustynna Malwa/Ekstern) and Emmona (Monogramm - Emilda/Pamir) were responsible for representing our country. Three returned with Top Ten titles, none could hope for a medal in the finals.

The little filly and great winner from Dubai

On Friday yearling fillies were the first to present themselves before the spectators. In Class A the bay HDM Maria Apal (RFI Farid - WW Imania Apal) representing the Ajman Stud came first, beating eight rivals. The filly obtained 92.17 points including high scores for type (2 x 20 and 4 x 19.5) and head and neck (5 x 19.5 and one „20”). In the finals she won the silver medal. The second in the class was Anwar Al Shahania (Kahil Al Shaqab – Sierra Tango TT) bred and owned by the Al Shahania Stud, which shared an equal score with Madinat Al Baydaa (RFI Farid – TS Madeleine/Ansata Sinan) representing the Egyptian stud Al Baydaa Stud. Both fillies were given 91.75 points, although Anwar Al Shahania obtained higher scores for movement. In the final the winner was ultimately Madinat Al Baydaa, winning bronze.

The winner of Class B, D Ajayeb (RFI Farid – Ladi Veronika), undisputedly beat all its rivals. This  very promising filly proudly represented the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud. Twenties were showered from all sides, so the young star gathered quite a handful: a whole row for head and neck, five for type and one for movement, which added up to a total of 93.58 points. The stakes were raised high indeed, and as a result in the finals the filly won the title of Champion. It is to be emphasized that the entire podium was taken by the daughters of the same sire!

Among yearling fillies Polish colours were held up by Emanolla (Vitorio TO – Emandoria/Gazal Al Shaqab), who unfortunately did not make it to the top. She won 90.58 points, which gave her the sixth position. She returned home to Michałów with a Top Ten title. In Class A of junior mares the key figure was Mai Aljassimyan (FA El Rasheem – RP Miss Surprise) of Qatar’s Aljassimya Farm, who won 92.83 points. The judges gave her as many as  five „20s” for type and high scores for head and neck, 5 x 19.5 and one „20”. The mare confirmed its top form in the final by winning the highest laurels. The immediate runner up in the class as well as in the final was Mozn Albidayern(S.M.A. Magic One – Mattaharii), who obtained three „20s” and the same number of 19.5 for head and neck.

Bint Hazy Al Khalediah

During the Sunday finals the winner of Class B, Bint Hazy Al Khalediah(El Palacio VO – Hazy Al Khalediah) bred by the Al Khalediah Stables and owned by the Al Khashab Stud joined these two mares. The runner up in class was Elle Flamencan (Ajman Moniscione – Allamara MA) bred by Markelle Arabians, owned by the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud. Our representative, the grey Galerida (Shanghai EA – Galilea/Laheeb), came third in the class winning 91.58 points. Pustynia Kahila (Kahil Al Shaqab – Pustynna Malwa/Ekstern) was placed three notches lower, in sixth position, while the last, eighth in Class A was El Larinera (Empire – El Emeera/Ekstern).

Senior mares and the highest score in show

In Paris this year’s Aachen silver medalist Aachen proved what she can achieve and what her position is. We refer to the Kuwaiti (Al Saqran Stud) mare Donna Molta Bella SRA (DA Valentino – RD Fabreanna), who gathered a whole row of „20s” for type, two for head and neck and three for movement. Her score was 93.92 and was the highest among mares. A higher score was given only to the reigning champion EKS Alihandro (Marwan Al Shaqab – OFW Psylhouette/Padrons Psyche), but we shall come to that in a moment. In the mares’ final she was the sure winner, Donna Molta Bella SRA became the Champion of senior mares. In the class she was closely followed by the Michałów bred delightful Wieża Marc ’a (QR Marc – Wieża Marzeń/Ekstern) owned by the Swedish Sinus Arabian Stud, who ultimately came second with a score of 91.67 points.

The third place went to the grey Aja Europa (Aja Justified – HB Marais), who also came third in the finals and won the bronze medal. The finalists were joined by the gold medalist from Aachen, the mare Tehama Ballalina (Tehama Na Sidaqa – JJ Shai Majestic Dream/Laddinn). She left Paris with a silver medal. In her group this mare came first with a score of 93.67 points (4 x 20 for type, 3 x 20 for head and neck and one „20” for movement). A Top Ten title was given to Michałów’s Emmona (Monogramm – Emilda/Pamir), who came third in the class obtaining a total of 92.00 points, including two „20s” for movement.

Dubai Arabian Horse Stud triumphs again

The attendance of yearling colts was not impressive. Class A saw 5 contestants, Class B only four. The winner in the first group, with a score of 91.25 points, was the stallion Monsour AM (EKS Alihandro - Abha Palma) bred and owned by the Al Mohamadia Stud, which won the bronze in the finals. The runner up was Pharaoh HBV (Psyche HBV – RFI Sophie Al Maktub) with a score of 91.08 points, the second runner up Eos Apollo (Lawrence El Gazal - Annou El Wuotan) with 91.00.

However, the imminent gold and silver medalist among yearling colts was in Class B. We refer to D Seraj (Fa El Rasheem - Ladi Veronika), whose scores knocked out all his rivals. A representative of the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud he easily collected 93.58 points, which included as many as five „20s” for type, one for head and neck and one for movement, thus winning the class. On Sunday he also won the title of Champion. The second place in the class and silver medal in the Championship was given to the Qatari Jaal Aljassimya (WH Justice – Annaiss) (91.25 points).

Pustynia Kahila

Among younger stallions the bay Luigi (Kanz Albidayer – Lolita) bred by Danielle Saelens and owned by the Al Shahania Stud, already known to the wider public, was unequalled. Although the stallion won the class with a high score of 93.42 points, which included very high marks for type ( 4 x 20 and 2 x 19.5), for head and neck (one „20” and 5 x 19.5) and for movement (2 x 20), in the finals he was overtaken by Gallardo J (Emerald J - Gomera J), who left Paris with the Champion’s title. The score of 92.83 points, including five „20s” for type, guaranteed his victory in Class B. The leaders were joined by Ghazwan Aljassimya (Marwan Al Shaqab – Athina El Jamaal), bred and onwed by Aljassimya Farm, who won the bronze medal.

Luigi

There is only one king

This time again the invincible EKS Alihandro did not disappoint his fans. The stallion knows too well who the boss is and how to make an impression. This time could be no different, and Giacomo Capacci, who has a unique understanding with the charismatic stallion, helped him to his goal. EKS Alihandro won a total of 94.25 points, including five „20s” for type, two for head and neck and one for movement. The judges’ generous scores guaranteed an advantage over a strong rival, the stallion Sultan Al Zobara (Gazal Al Shaqab - Inra Al Shaqab), who won 92.83 points (4 x 20 for type, 2 x 20 for head and neck), which gave the latter a second position in the class.

EKS Alihandro

Royal Colours

This situation was also reflected in the final results. There was no surprise. The gold medal was well deserved by EKS Alihandro, the silver went to Sultan Al Zobara, these two being joined by the winner of Class B, IM Bayard Cathare (Padrons Immage - Shamilah Bagheera), which also won a high score of 93.58 in his class.

The highest laurels of Platinum Champions were awarded to the mare CR Jasmeenah (WH Justice – Fforget-Me-Not) owned by Al Jassiimya Farm, who proudly left Paris as the Platinum Champion, and Royal Colours (True Colours – Xtreme Wonder), owned by the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, the Platinum Champion stallion.

We sincerely hope that Polish breeding is not laying down its arms. History shows that it is capable of reviving like a Phoenix from the ashes. Polish horses are, after all, still the same, strong warriors. However, strategy and adequate leadership is also required in the show ring. The next show is next year, and a year is a lot of time indeed…
